The Centre for Extra-Mural Studies (CEMS) of University of Mumbai is offering a bouquet of various short courses designed for students beyond Class 7. The Vidyanagari campus in Santa Cruz (East) has pleasant surroundings and a well-stocked canteen. The classrooms are air-conditioned and all CEMS teachers are experts in their fields. There are no classes on Sundays. Even grownups, parents and teachers can participate. Some of the courses include:

l SPIRITUALITY
Chinmaya Mission, Mumbai is organising a ‘gyana yagna’ (knowledge sacrifice) in Chembur. The five-day event from April 17 will feature spiritual discourses by Swami Advaitananda twice a day. The 7-8 am morning talk in English will be on ‘Advaita Makaranda’. The 7.30-9 pm evening talk in Hindi will be on chapter 9 of the Bhagawadh Gita.

Attend a beginner’s session on Three-Step Rhythmic Breathing (3SRB), an ancient technique of breathing which calms the mind and brings total physical, emotional and mental health to the body-brain system. This technique has been derived from the Yogasutra of Sage Patanjali. All 3SRB sessions are completely free and require no prior registration. The session will be an introduction to this ancient system of self-realisation and will include teaching of the six refining exercises
